People v. Marvin Gaye, Jr.: Drug and gun cases, not guilty.
People v. Heaps: UCLA Doctor accused of molesting patients in his gynecological oncology practice, acquitted or hung jury on 16 of 21 counts at trial.
People v. Lishey: Gang murder, not guilty on all counts.
People v. Victor Paleologus: First-degree murder case, spared death sentence and life without parole, sentenced to 25 to life concurrent with another case.
People v. Bughman: Defendant, an elementary school teacher, was charged with multiple counts of rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual battery involving multiple victims. Following a seven-week jury trial, he was acquitted on all counts. It was for this representation that Mr. Levine received the second Trial Lawyer of the Year award from the Criminal Courts Bar Association.
USA v. Buinguyen: Federal case involving more than 100 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine, pending.
People v. LeifGarrett: Teen idol, actor, singer accused of drug charges. Diversion granted.
People v. DeGuzman: Defendant was charged with 21 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Following trial, the jury hung on all counts.
People v. Sharper: Former NFL star facing multiple charges of rape in multiple states, some with life-sentence exposure, cases consolidated into a single omnibus agreement.
People v. Lou Rawls, Jr. : Drug, theft cases. Resolved.
People v. Garcia: First murder case relating to the murder of a Burbank Police Officer.
People v. Tyndall: USC Doctor accused of improper touching in the largest criminal sex-crimes case in Los Angeles.
People v. Ortiz: Defendant was charged with multiple counts of child molestation with multiple victims. Following trial, the jury hung on all counts.
People v. Megaw: Defendant was charged with multiple counts of child molestation. The first trial resulted in a hung jury, and the District Attorney’s office re-filed. The case was resolved with a misdemeanor plea, no jail time and no registration.
People v. Torres: Defendant was charged with multiple counts of child molestation and kidnapping; he was acquitted on all counts.
People v. Dystra: Major-league star baseball player, reduced sentence by 6 years.
United States v. Naghani: Iranian national who smoked on a flight immediately after 9/11, resulting in plane being returned to LAX under military jet escort.
People v. Eteghaei: University of California-Santa Barbara student accused of sexual crimes against more than 10 students.
People v. Seijas: Gang murder trial, not guilt verdict.
People v. Amin: Felony molestation charges against store owner accused of molesting minor customer. Not Guilty verdict after jury trial.
People v. Kauffman: Attorney accused in multi-count insurance fraud case. Jury trial resulted in acquittal on all charges.
People v. Goode: Two first-degree murder charges with special circumstances. Death penalty sought by prosecution. Involved extensive DNA, blood and hair evidence presented by the prosecutor. Acquitted on all charges.
People v. Perelman: Multi-defendant insurance fraud case alleging misconduct by several orthopedic specialists. All charges eventually dismissed in Superior Court following extensive litigation over three years.
People v. Stewart: Multi-count felony child molestation allegations against a school teacher. Not Guilty on most counts, hung jury on other counts, case dismissed.
People v. Duval: Multi-count felony child molestation charges against school teacher with allegations of prior misconduct. Not Guilty on all charges.
People v. Eisenberg, et al.: Twenty-count insurance fraud case; 9-week trial. Not Guilty on all counts. It was for this representation that Mr. Levine received the first Trial Lawyer of the Year award from the Criminal Courts Bar Association.
People v. Otis: Multi-count felony child molestation case against nationally known high school basketball coach accused of oral copulation and forcible sodomy with one of his players. Not Guilty verdicts on all charges.
People v. Landis, et al.: After extensive negotiations with Cal OSHA and District Attorney’s office, felony criminal charges were filed circumventing Cal OSHA’s jurisdiction and alleging involuntary manslaughter against all defendants. Represented Dan Allingham in the "Twilight Zone" manslaughter trial. The ten-month trial resulted in Not Guilty verdicts for all defendants.
People v. Kalhor: Defendant was charged with four felony counts of intent to engage in sex with minors. Following jury trial, defendant was acquitted on two counts; jury unable to reach a verdict on remaining two counts. District Attorney’s office attempted to refile the two counts as misdemeanors; defense filed a motion to dismiss which was granted.
People v. Smith: In this multiple-count, multiple-victim case, Defendant was charged with felony child molestation and misdemeanor child annoyance. Following jury trial, Defendant was acquitted on all misdemeanor counts; jury unable to reach a verdict on the felony count, but felony count was dismissed.
